NOTICE TO OUR MEMBERS
Credit Union Pandemic Update
<JANUARY 4, 2021>
The purpose of the following information is to provide members a best practices update related to the ongoing, fluid situation associated with the Coronavirus and credit union operations.
1. Credit union management is continually monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus issue.
2. As announcements come out through the Federal and Local Governments and as the credit union is impacted; we will continually update our members through our web site at www.aflcioefcu.orgon the ‘Announcement’ bar on the Home page.
3. The credit union follows the Federal Government when it involves the announcement of a closure or late arrival.
4. The credit union does have in place a plan to continue operations if a branch closure should take place.
5. We will have the ability to operate from remote locations.
6. There are obvious logistical steps to get the credit union up and running during a branch closure; however, we should be operational if the branch should be closed.
How are we operational?
The credit union can be operational provided our vendor partners are operational as well. The credit union web site has an ‘Announcement’ bar on the Home page that will be used to provide ongoing updates to members.
Please keep in mind, the credit union has established several delivery channels to assist members in case of an emergency closure of the credit union branch.
1. In the case of a branch closure, our plans call for credit union staff to work remotely and have access to our Host system.
2. The credit union will operate our normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm; however, those operations will be remote.
3. Members can contact the credit union via the 301-683-2800 phone number.
4. However, it is recommended members contact the credit union though our general email at general@aflcioefcu.org for account transactions or information related to accounts and lending@aflcioefcu.org for information related to current loans or loan information.
5. Members will be able to access our 24/7 Telephone system [AIMIE] to perform transactions on accounts.
6. Members who are signed up for access to Internet banking will be able to check balances and perform transactions through our internet banking system.
7. Members who have access to our Mobile Banking application will be able to check balances and perform transactions through the credit union mobile banking application.
8. With Mobile Banking, members can deposit checks through our Remote Deposit Capture {RDC] function within mobile banking. This function is strongly recommended. The credit union recommends checks not be mailed in, if possible.

b. Place the check on a flat surface
c. Take a legible picture of the front and back of the check.

10. To access the mobile banking application for an iPhone, go to the Apple Store and download the application.
11. To access the mobile banking application for an Android phone, go to the Play Store through Google and download the application.
12. The issuing of checks will be difficult due to the inability of access to the branch.
13. There are Shared Branching and Shared ATMs available. Go to our web site, click on the ‘Access’ tab, click on the ‘ATM & Branch Locator’ tab.
14. Shared Branching operations could be interrupted if those credit unions are impacted by the onset of the virus. Check our web site for ongoing updates.
